Eden Community,
I would like very much to include your voice in a virtual choir video of the Spiritual “Jesus, Oh What a Wonderful Child” for the Annual Christmas concert!.
Here’s how you can participate:
Step 1: Listen/sing along to the rehearsal video a few times to get comfortable. Words are below. Work to communicate the essence of the tune through your voice and don’t feel you have to do too much. It helps to remember you’ll be part of a larger ensemble.
“Jesus, Jesus,
Oh, what a wonderful child.
Jesus, Jesus,
So holy, meek and mild.
New life, new hope the child will bring.
Listen to the angels sing,
Glory, glory, glory to the newborn King.”
Step 2: Once you’re comfortable with the music, you will need two devices.
One device to record yourself singing along (phone, laptop, iPad)
A second device to listen to the master track while you record yourself singing along. You should use headphones/earbuds. This ensures the original master track recording won’t be picked up on your recording. Another option is to make sure the video is playing as low as possible and is still audible for you to sing along with.
Step 3: Once you have a recording you can email it, Dropbox, Google drive share, WeTransfer or send it to me in some digital capacity. My email is pvasile@eden.edu
Please send your recording by the end of the day on Friday, December 4! Because time on this project is limited, we won't be able to include late videos.
A few tips:
Make sure you position your device for the best sound possible. This means not standing too close or having the device in your hand. A stable video is a happy video!
Make sure you’re in a quiet(er) space to eliminate background noise.
Try to be as well lit as possible.
Finally, these videos are not meant to be perfect and we're not looking for Grammy nominations. They are meant to keep us connected to God and each other while we are physically apart.
I look forward to getting to know you through your voices, friends. Send your videos and thanks for participating, as you're able. The more the merrier.
